Privacy policy
Last updated 16 Oct 2026
This policy explains how ReallyCare CIC (“we”, “us”) collects and uses personal data when you visit this website, contact us, or use Plait.
Who we are
ReallyCare CIC is a community interest company registered in England and Wales (company number 07721795). Our address is Gate House, Stockland Lane, Hadlow Down, Uckfield, TN22 4EA. We are registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (registration number Z2802833).
For any question about this policy or your data, email contact-now@reallycare.org.
If you use Plait through a care provider
If you use Plait as a care worker, client, family member or member of office staff, your care provider decides what data is held about you and why. They are the data controller, and their own privacy notice applies. We are their data processor: we host and process that data only on their instructions and under a contract with them.
To ask about the records held about you in Plait, contact your care provider first. We will help them answer your request.
Data we collect through this website
When you request a demo we collect your name, work email, organisation, phone number and anything you tell us in your message. We use it only to arrange and follow up your demo. Your request is sent by email, using Amazon Web Services (in the UK), to our support system. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests: responding to an enquiry you made. We delete enquiries that don’t lead to a contract after 2 years.
When you join our mailing list we collect your email address. We use it to send occasional news about Plait and ReallyCare. Our lawful basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time using the unsubscribe link in every email. Our mailing list is run by Mailchimp (Intuit Inc.), which stores data in the United States under the terms stated in the International Transfers section of their Data Processing Addendum.
When you email us we use what you send to reply to you.
When you apply for a job we use your CV only to consider your application. CVs of failed applicants may be kept on file for up to six months.
Data collected automatically
Like all web servers, ours records basic details of each request, such as your IP address, the page requested and your browser type, so that we can keep the site running securely. We do not use any analytics or tracking services.
Cookies
This website does not set cookies. If you switch between light and dark mode, your browser remembers that choice on your own device. It is never sent to us.
Our introductory video is hosted on YouTube. Nothing is loaded from YouTube until you press play. It then plays in YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode, and YouTube’s own privacy policy applies.
Who we share data with
We never sell personal data. We share it only with the service providers named in this policy, so that they can provide their services to us, or where the law requires us to.
Keeping data secure
We are certified to ISO 27001 (information security) and Cyber Essentials Plus, and our NHS Data Security and Protection Toolkit assessment exceeds the required standards.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you
- have inaccurate data corrected
- have your data deleted
- object to, or ask us to restrict, how we use your data
- receive your data in a portable format
- withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on consent
To use any of these rights, email contact-now@reallycare.org. There is no charge, and we will respond within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office. We would appreciate the chance to put things right first.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update this page and the date at the top.
